FINDING SANDFONTEIN LODGE & NATURE RESERVE
Fly or drive, whichever suits you best
Sandfontein Lodge & Nature Reserve is in a remote location, far from the stresses of the outside world, but still only a short journey from the region’s biggest cities.
Sandfontein has the kind of location other game reserves can only dream of.
Easy to reach by air, and yet a world away from the stresses of modern life, the lodge is wrapped by acre after acre of wild and rocky terrain.
Here, amid the sea of mountains, you’ll find your exclusive use hideaway for up to 12 guests.
There’s very little else to break the endless views across the Sandfontein Valley.
“DON’T HESITATE ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL PLACE ON EARTH. THERE ARE NOT MANY LIKE IT.”
– ANNA WUCHER (GUEST), GAUTENG, SA
The simplest option is to arrive at Sandfontein by plane.
The well-maintained airstrip is perfect for light aircraft, and fly-in specials can be arranged to meet jets landing at Cape Town International Airport.
More adventurous types can make the drive here from any direction; the five-hour route from Upington in South Africa is spectacular, but it’s also easy to make the trip from the Fish River Canyon, Windhoek or Noordoewer.
The airfield is approximately five kilometres west of the lodge. You should fly over the lodge enroute to alert staff to your arrival.
